WOYWW 158

Well that was one fast week that came and went, what with all that ATC 3rd Anniversary excitement of What's on your Workdesk Wednesday, and the Queen's Golden Diamond Jubilee (As corrected by BJ)!! I had to tape it and am still watching the celebration.
Did you all watch the Transit of Venus? A once in a lifetime view.
So this is my desk this week, a new craft, a dear friend of mine Sandra sent me and adorable hand crafted-crocheted-hand towel with topper and I fell in love with it. After asking her for a recipe which she didnt have, she told me to just look at it and crochet-welllll that's an ask and a half cos I cannot crochet without a pattern to save my life. So after hours of trial and error this is the results.

Received the following gorgeous handcrafted ATCS from
  Janet
Sandee from the Hills of North Carolina

So run on over to Julia's place to see what else gone son in the world of crafting desks

...hey Bridget you did really well and it looks great, like you say not easy without the pattern...gorgeous looking buttons awaiting attention on your desk...as for the Transit of Venus, not a chance here it was total cloud cover!...always the way when it comes to anything Heavenly...Mel :)

Totally AWESOME the way you figured out the pattern. It looks the same as your friend's. Transit of Venus hit in early evening where I was and we could not look at the sun without some type of polarizing lens. However, some people set up special lens covered telescopes and watched away.

I totally missed the whole Venus thing, which is a shame! Glad to see you got my ATC! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

Hi Bridget, Not sure which Queen you are referring to but ours celebrated her "DIAMOND" Jubilee - think you are 10yrs out - LOL. Was up at the crack of dawn for the Transit but with all the cloud cover no hop of seeing it "again" - yep saw it back in 2002 I think it was. Think you got the crochet sorted - Well Done BJ#8

Lovely ATC's you got.

Hey, I think you did brilliantly with the crochet - I wouldn't even know where to start!! It looks good to me. Who needs a pattern anyway - I do all my sewing/cooking etc etc without instructions, I never stick to ANYTHING!!!

I love those crocheted hand towels! My mom had some and I truly would love to have some too. I don't think I can learn to crochet just to make them though. This dog doesn't do too well with new tricks. I love what you've done though! Great ATCs too. Sandee's card with the "hi" on it made me laugh because that is what she is always saying-waving hi....

Looks like you did a pretty darn good job! My Aunt used to make these and give them as gifts at Christmas. I still have several! I'm just curious, I saw something on your desk that said "copic club". Would that be Copic Markers? Do tell me more! Valerie #26

I'm leaving two comments on your WOYWW post this week!! I just wanted to say thanks for coming back by and checking out my address book! They're announcing the winner of the contest today, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Bridget you have done a brilliant job, I can't crochet with a pattern and just wing it along. It really isn't hard and if you make a mistake then just pull it out and do it again, it not like you have to start from the beginning. Make it will all different types of stitches, you can do it, I know you. Your a champ.

Have a great crafting week

Great desk as ever, Bridget (although where's the FOOD lol!!) Very clever to work out the pattern and I love the result. What lovely ATCs you've received, too!

Yes, you did ask me to swap - I sent you my snail mail addy but will send it again just to make sure. It does get confusing all the different names, but although my email is in my "real" name, what I really want to be called is Shoshi - although I'm happy with the title "Zentangle Queen" lol lol lol!!!

Sorry to be so long responding but I've been having problems with my comments awaiting moderation not being visible - it turns out it's a Blogger/Firefox problem since the latest Firefox upgrade, so I'm temporarily using IE till they sort it out - hopefully soon!

Happy belated WOYWW,
