10am ....snack, my favourite.

NAUGHTY NAUGHTY but oh so yummy.
Unfortunately we got lost near home one day and discovered a Krispy Kreme shop at a service station nearby. We got lost trying to get back home so I have no idea how to get to it-thank goodness.

TRAVEL
Hmm will this fly through space?
its a hire car camper, you pull out the back door and it doubles as an extra bit so your feet fit while you sleep, I imagine. Saw this in Byron Bay camping ground.

WOYWW # 273

This was my computer desk with the printer precariously perched beside the computer and tv. Because my legs are so short I need that 2 tiered stool to rest my feet on.
So this is the end result, there was a white cupboard where the blue table now sits, that was making me claustrophobic, now I have an open are to the left of me and its much better. What was going to be a simple move turned into a 2 hour affair. When I moved the cupboard I had to clean the floor underneath, then when I crawled under the desk I had to clean up the dust bunnies there too and then the back of the computer and so on and so on. I reckon I have bad dust bunnies OCD LOL.

My giant 1litre flask of honey and lemon lives beside me, I've been fighting a cold all winter now.

DULL
The weather has dulled this jetty but given it a great rustic look, don't you think?

T for Tuesday

I've been living on honey and lemon drinks for a while now that it is winter here. I think between hubby and I we've gone through 4 kgs of fresh honey. It is so different to the honey we buy in the supermarkets. The honey comes straight from the bees and isn't heat treated which takes out the goodness of honey. I read somewhere that the honey in Australia is the best with healing qualities. Thats a 1 litre flask I bought from Aldi. I take it to work and make 2 a day at home.

EDITED: I thought I'd check out some facts about honey, I definitely can taste the difference in honey that is raw and the ones from the supermarket that is heat treated. Honey has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and is a cough suppressant.

Shop for honey and you'll see that some are lighter, others are darker. In general, the darker the honey, the better its antibacterial and antioxidant power.

Here's a great Article on uses of honey.
Natural honey better at killing bacteria than artificial honey - Kendall Powell wrote in the journal Nature that "natural honey kills bacteria three times more effectively" than an artificial honey solution of the same thickness and sugar concentration.7

Bought some of these teas I saw my colleague at work drinking. They are all green teas. And of course I had to have my favourite black tea English Breakfast. I thought I'd try the Irish Breakfast too

FRAGRANT
Have you really smelt food when cooking?
I mean really take in the smells of all the components in a dish!
Curry is one of my favourite dishes and this Korma prawn curry was no different, one day we will have smell-a-vision

STYLE
We took a trip to the Ginger Factory on the Sunshine Coast and saw this growing out the back in what seemed to be styled in the shape of a heart and continuing outward. It was very lush and wonderful collection of trees and shrubs and made for a lovely walk.

DECORATE
Who says I can't play with my food?
We went strawberry picking and I used them to spell out the word Jam under the bottles of strawberry jam I had made. Picking your own from a strawberry farm sure beats the store bought ones which have no flavour at all.

WOYWW 272

I was busy this whole week welcoming, making lots of trips to the airport to pick up relatives and drop them off. We celebrated my grandmas 95th birthday. Here's the birthday girl below. So you will excuse the non desk post.
We worked out she has 8 children, 19 grand children (I'm in this lot), 20 great grand children and 2 great great grand children.
Here she is with her 2 great great grand children Jaydina and Brendan

4 of the 9 children (my mum is on the right)
11 of the 22 grand children (thats me on the left in red, I am part of 5 brothers and sisters and we are 1,2,3,4,6 in the back row)
8 of the 20 great grand children

the food OMG the food, everyone brought a dish or two and it was awesome to taste all those different dishes.
Front left bottom and going clockwise: Lasagne, pasta salad, potato salad, pico de gallo, stir fried veges, broccoli salad, Chicken and potato, palau, roti, pumpkin-pinenuts-beans, char kway teo, bbq pork buns
Chicken and mushroom soup, goat curry, lentil curry, another pot of goat curry
  oh so yummy spring rolls
I got up at 4.30am on Saturday morning to make 130 of these Indian breads we call roti. they are very popular in our family and at any parties and it was worth waking up so early to do them. I made 50 an hour with two burners going. Then I had help and production slowed down lol.

BEFORE BEDTIME
This is my routine before bedtime. I sit on the lounge with my feet up (my job involves being on my feet), have my kindle out and read when nothing on TV interests me.
Talk to hubby about his day and my day. It's very relaxing.

T for Tuesday

Hubby makes the best macaroni and cheese, he added blue cheese from Aldi for this one.
It was absolutely delicious.
Nice with a cup of tea.

EDITED: Due the comments about hubby taking over the cooking in my house.
Heres my secret: I told hubby I cook on weekdays and he cooks on weekends
and if he doesn't cook then we don't eat...and I stuck to my guns hahahaha.
So after a few weeks of no food on the weekends he got the hint!!

Can you see the arrow shape pointing down with this waterfall?
It's a Natural bridge at Springbrook National Park located in the Gold coast hinterland.
It is a glorious place to visit if you get a chance to.

GIVE
A craft friend of mine Eliza Harms who lives in Melbourne sent me a box of hand made cards for my Cards for the Troops drive. In it she put this postcard which I found a couple of months later for the collection I do. It moved me to read it, it's not something I do to get praise for.
I love her calligraphic penmanship

RIP Robin Williams who died at age 63 yesterday, very sad circumstances.
Photos that remind me of him

Julia's Stamping Ground will show you more craft areas

EDITED: To answer what the squeeze me box holds...a water bottle LOL

INSIDE
In a corner inside my craft room is this cellar where I keep all my empty jars and bottles of jams that I have made as well as extra toilet paper and oh a box of twix chocolates. The tall empty bottles will hold sauce if I get to make them, they come from milk bottles. there are tiny milk bottles in the middle front of the shelf. The middle shelf is now full of strawberry jam that I have made and will be making another batch on Thursday
