WOYWW #264

I missed last weeks WOYWW, too much happening and not too much progress
with my unpacking, here's the progress photo

Not too much progress, but a few boxes have moved. Looking from the left side. Bottles of lemon preserve going on in the foreground, they are holding down packing papers so I can store them in boxes neatly. Middle of the picture shows papers in a box ready to be straightened on the table on the left
Below: Looking from the right side
Below: Looking from the opposite end, standing near my computer

Well Michael finally cleaned up his corner which was an eyesore from the pictures below, amazing what a few containers can do to make the place look decent

T Stands for Tuesdays

Who said teacups are only for tea or coffee??

Well this proves it, I usually use a teacup for my soups.

Nola's Lasagne

My very good friend Nola whom I left in Canberra is an awesome cook and she has kindly shared with me recipes to die for so I am "saving it here". This is the best lasagne recipe I have tasted and when you look at the ingredients and how its all made you will understand why.

Nola’s Lasagna

White Sauce, makes 1 pint

1 ½ oz (42g) butter and flour
¾ pint (1.5 cup) milk
1 cup double cream (thick)
pinch nutmet and salt
60g grated parmesan cheese

(½ cup (50g) smoked ham, medium onion, 1 small carrot, 2 sticks celery)
2 oz (56g) butter
5 sp oil

Chop above ingredients in brackets up fine, cook in a pan using the butter and oil for 10 mins.

1 glass white wine
2 chicken livers
¾ lb (340g) ground beef (mince)
¼ lb (113g) lean pork mince
¾ pint (1 ½ cup) beef stock
2 tbsp tomato paste

grated cheese for top later

On stove top, brown meat and add to vegetables, add stock, tomato paste and wine, simmer 45 mins

Layer sheets of pasta, then meat and vegetable mix, white sauce, season with salt and pepper to taste, repeat layers, last layer top with grated cheese.

Bake in moderate oven for 30-40 mins.

Pictures to come later when I make this recipe again as I never thought to take photos when I have made them previously as I didnt think I would have to put it on my blog so I could find the recipe for myself LOL

Coconut Choc Chip Cookies

Coconut Choc Chip Cookies

1 Egg                                                              125ml Vegetable Oil
3 tbsp Self Raising flour                                25 g Desiccated Coconut
125 g White Chocolate Chips                        150g Brown Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Essence                                     65 g Plain Flour
14 tsp Cinnamon                                            175 g Slivered Almonds
2 tbsp Caster Sugar or normal White Sugar

Grease baking sheet & line with non stick baking paper

In a bowl beat egg and sugars together until light and creamy

Stir in vanilla essence and oil

Sift flours and cinnamon then add the coconut, almonds and white chocolate chips and mix well with wooden spoon

Form large teaspoons full and bake in a pre heated oven 180C 12-13 minutes or until golden brown.

This recipe was shared with my by Maz from Southside Stampers in Canberra. They are my go to favourite cookie recipe.

(this was the recipe I "lost" and prompted me to save them on my blog).

Pictures to come later when I make this recipe again as I never thought to take photos when I have made them previously as I didnt think I would have to put it on my blog so I could find the recipe for myself LOL

Marshmallow Salad

I've decided to put my favourite tried and tested recipes on my blog
I have been looking for my recipe book that I keep with my favourite recipes in it and I can't find it
I know its somewhere but I need it NOW!! LOL
So the best place I cant lose anything is on my blog.
I had all my recipes kept on USB too but that is still to be found amongst the packing.
I know this salad is really nice

Marshmallow Salad

1 tin/cup crushed pineapple
1 tin/cup mandarins
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup sour cream

Drain pineapple and mandarins.
Put all ingredients in bowl and mix together.
Chill to blend flavours.

Some people like it served as a dessert, but we prefer it as a salad at a BBQ. It is definitely a conversation piece

The next time we move I am keeping the USB and recipes out and not letting the removalists pack it for me LOL

Pictures to come later when I make this recipe again as I never thought to take photos when I have made them previously as I didnt think I would have to put it on my blog so I could find the recipe for myself LOL

WOYWW #262

So I finally visited the craft store near me, almost walking distance,
that I have avoided for the last 3 months since moving here.

The lady was very friendly and we chatted and I spent.
It was all her fault, she kept showing me stuff she had made or they had in their classes
and I fell in love with them all. Wouldn't you?
Well considering the last time I bought anything crafty was October last year
I think I have been a good girl.
This is what I got...some must haves...my Spellbinders dies that I dont think I own
well if I do someone special will be getting them (I don't think she reads my blog)
My favourite buy from this lot is the fuschia stamp from Judikins, I love Fuschia
plants and have always looked for this stamp and it was on sale for $10 wooooooohoooo
Well I landed in hospital on the weekend while hubby went camping with the family. Had a massive headache that was unlike any headache I'd experienced and scared the beegeebies out of me. Had every test under the sun and I looked like a pin cushion. They couldn't get any blood out of me and finally when they did it spilt everywhere and scared the heck out of me.

T stands for Tuesday

I landed in hospital on the weekend and this is what they gave me for breakfast after I had been starving. I dont eat marmalade and I dont like Equal sugar and the weetbix was bland on their own. So I skipped most of it and waited for a decent meal which I got when I got out of hospital and we went and had some soup at a cafe, was much more nourishing and to my taste

Remember my post with my new Tea Toy here, well curious as I am I wanted to see what those pods held and how they worked so I opened one up

WOYWW #261

Nothing has changed in my craft room unpacking, I do however have 8 days off after today
so I will get stuck into it and hopefully have it all unpacked,
thats wishful thinking as I still have 70 boxes to unpack.

Meanwhile the other day I heard a noise outside my craftroom door
and on inspection I saw this parcel delivered courtesy of the wonderful
Eliza who plays in WOYWW

The gorgeous Eliza has contributed these gorgeous cards for my
Thank you so much Eliza, you are one generous gorgeous person.
Flat Susan has not turned up yet, hopefully some day soon,
I can't wait to show her around my new city.

EDITED: It's 12hours since this post went up and Flat Susan arrived sometime during the day but I was at work, so when hubby came home he delivered her to me.
