WOYWW #216

I haven't done much lately as I've been sick with the flu, temperatures here have been in the minus Celsius so those flu critters are looking for a warm place to hide. So no crafting for me. my smaller desk holds stuff I had cut out previous ready to assemble-some lattice cards. The basket holds dies and stamps that I used on my Spellbinders Explore Beyond post ready to take up stairs to the computer so I can write up a reference post that you can see HERE. The two black folders hold music cds, I like to create with music playing and the type of stuff I create determines the music I play. Usually bopping music I can move to, my current favourite song is Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke
So whilst I've been sick and unable to eat most foods and most foods are tasting bitter to me, I made this Pork Bone soup that is very tasty normally, it consists of a piece of ginger, pork bones or ribs, smoked pork bones, Chinese Broccoli and Won ton Soup base and a hairy melon. The melon as you can see below has a slight downy covering of hair on it, the skin is peeled. So that has my diet for the past few days.
Well Julia has put up the post really really early this week and for once I wasn't ready hahahaha so hop over there to see other desks at Julia's Stamping Ground

You always have the most delicious looking food in your posts. That soup is no exception. Very interesting. I grew up in an Italian Restaurant, and I learned to cook like my grandparents did back in Italy. I really hope you feel better soon. So funny how you guys are total opposite of us in the states. When you are in the middle of your summer, we will be in the middle of our flu season. Hope you have a great week. (((HUGS)))

Hi Bridget
so sorry to hear that you have been so unwell with the flu. You need to be over here in the UK while we are having our heat wave.
You have some lovely bits on your desk and some great dies.
I hope your soup gives you the energy and everything else you need to get better
Sending hugs for WOYWW and hope you enjoy the rest of your week

Praying that you feel better soon. We in Wales, after a very long, cold winter, are now experiencing unusually high temperatures - I mean 32 Celsius for the UK, almost unheard of. Hope you can soon concentrate on your craft and cooking again soon - both look wonderful. Thanks for your comments. Happy WOYWW! john-w

Bless your heart--I hope that bug goes away very soon and you can have your energy back. I love seeing your soup...it looks organic, gourmet, and actually delicious! It reminds me of some of the Chinese soups I love when we go to our favorite buffet. Is that a Sizzix Big Shot on your desk? Well, at least you know those beautiful diecuts are just waiting for you when you feel better. Thank you for your lovely visit today! Hugs and Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #46

Lovely to see food on your blog! Looks a very interesting soup. So sorry to hear you' ve got winter flu. Here in the UK we are still baking hot and I'm finding it hard to cope with it, and it's hard to imagine people suffering the miseries of winter the other side of the world! I hope you feel better soon, and are able to do lots of creative stuff. Your cards look great - I love lattices.

Thanks for your lovely cheerful and enthusiastic comment! The new bubba is our great nephew - the son of my hubby's twin brother's son. He's a big lad, isn't he!! And what a dramatic entrance he made - almost as if he was trying to upstage Prince George lol!!

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Bridget, sorry to read you've been ill with the flu - not good at all. Your soup looks tasty. When I'm poorly I live on tomato or chicken and rice soup - I firmly believe in the restorative powers of soup :) Thanks for the visit earlier - I've now finished the cushion cover and will be posting it off to my sister in London tomorrow. Hope you make a quick recovery so you can get back to your cardmaking. Elizabeth x #37

Hi Bridget
Thanks for dropping by my blog for WOYWW. Oh hope you feel better very soon Bridget and get back to your arty self ASAP. No last year i had two operations on my left shoulder. I went back to normal hours and normal duties in ? January only to have the same thing now affect my right shoulder and right hip plus have some bits floating around my right knee that should not be there...so its all causing pain to sit, stand, walk or use my right arm. Very frustrating indeed! OMG Canberra is way to cold in winter. My best friend lives in Goulburn and i will only visit her if its summer LOL

It is good that you have found a food that you can eat and that does you good while you are feeling so unwell. I go for home made chicken soup, made from the carcase of a roast chicken, with loads of veggies, all chopped up small. Or if I have a sore throat, a hot Bovril hits the spot. I think it is the salt in it that helps. Thank you for your visit this week. Strange to say, when all the jars and tins were cascading out of the cupboard on to my brand new glass tumblers and onto me, the last thought in my mind was to take a photo, as you may imagine, but your comments did make me laugh. Hope you have a good week and soon feel much better. xx Maggie #39
