T Stands for Tuesday-Disaster!! Lemon drink for coughs and colds

Opps I was setting up my new photographic area and the dowling stick fell down on top of my new saucer. I can still use the cup. Why did it happen to one of the loveliest of cups?

I made this cold and cough drink which consists of slices of lemon, fill jar with honey to cover lemons and about a 2inch size of ginger. Scoop out a spoonful and add hot water. Voila infused ginger, lemon and honey drink to sooth that sore throat. We are coming out of our flu season and going into spring but I drink a cup of this a day to keep bugs away from me and build my immune system up for the next winter season. Store in fridge and keeps up to 3 months if there is any left hahaha.

Come back tomorrow to see my new photographic set up on my WOYWW post

non-attachement! My daughter is a potter and says a broken cup is an opportunity to make more!
So the lemon i completely submerged in the honey? do you need to keep it in the fridge ?
We're just getting into the cld and flu season.
Blessings,
Robyn

Oh Bridget, how very sad that your beautiful saucer is broken. That cup and saucer are so fabulous. Is there any chance of finding a replacement? You must have been so upset!

The lemon drink idea is great, and I'd definitely like to try this as our cold season is approaching. I adore honey and lemon even if I haven't got a cold! It looks so fantastic in the jar, too - would make lovely gifts, with a pretty label and a circle of fabric on top.

I know it's always sad when we loose something this beautiful, but I'm hoping a bit of glue might fix it enough that it can be used. After all, it's not holding the tea.

Both you and Robyn used ginger in your posts this week. I like the idea of that tea, since we will soon be headed where you are now. I may have to "borrow" that recipe, since it sound yummy even without needing to use it to cure you.

Thanks for sharing your lemon tea with us for T this week, and my heart goes out to you over the loss of that beautiful saucer.

Loove the sound of that lemon drink, but on no, what a catastrophe with the mug :-(.

I know all about broken cups and saucers. My hubby broke one of my favourites and they are sometimes hard to replace. But I love your lemon honey idea. Could come in handy!

I'm drinking hot lemon today Bridget but I'm certainly going to try your recipe! It sounds awesome :)
I'm sorry to see your broken saucer but it DID provide a great photo op! It has such a gorgeous design--hope you can glue it back together :) have a great day!

Oh no!!! That is so sad. But better you broke the saucer than the cup. The cup can soldier on solo! ;)
Happy T-Day! :)

Too Bad! I lost my entire collection of grandmothers cups and saucers - both Grands. the shelving they were displayed on came off the wall, everyone broke. That was 29 years ago. I started my own.. Nan always said "never cry over a broken cup, there are always more" I still have the pieces of her favorite set, I think it means more to me than the entire collection! Your coup looks like it will still display well, Such a pretty set!
